Förderpilot*in

Förderpilot*in is run together by Austria Wirtschaftsservice and the Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft - the federal business bank and the federal research agency - and lists the programmes of both alongside those of the Länder agencies. It covers grants, loans, guarantees and equity, and also the support that is not money at all: incubators, coaching and competitions.

Austria: federal programmes and all nine Bundesländer

Two federal agencies and nine Länder, on one list

Austrian funding is split between federal agencies and nine Land agencies that each publish their own. Having them in one catalogue is what makes it possible to ask a single question - what is open to this company, here - instead of ten. Roughly half the programmes are federal and open to any Austrian company; the rest depend on which Land you are in.

EU calls and national programmes

An EU call is published once, centrally, and is open to applicants across the member states. National and regional funding is published by each country instead, in its own register and its own language - the Förderdatenbank in Germany, the BDNS in Spain, Incentivi.gov.it in Italy, and so on. Most of the money a smaller company can realistically apply for is national or regional rather than EU wide, which is why the national registers are the larger part of this list.
