EU Funding and Tenders portal
The EU Funding and Tenders portal is where the European Commission publishes its open calls - Horizon Europe, the European Defence Fund, Digital Europe, LIFE, Erasmus+ and the rest. It is the widest single source of EU money, and the reason a company in one member state can be funded to work across several.

Why not just search the portal yourself
You can, and it is free. The difficulty is vocabulary. A call is written in the language of the programme that funds it, not the language of the company that could deliver it, and the work it describes rarely uses the words you would search for. A keyword search returns either far too much to read or, worse, quietly nothing, because the call you needed called it something else. Reading by meaning is what turns that into a short list you can act on.
EU calls and national programmes
An EU call is published once, centrally, and is open to applicants across the member states. National and regional funding is published by each country instead, and in Germany that means the Foerderdatenbank - federal ministries, the development banks and all sixteen Laender in one export. Most of the money a smaller company can realistically apply for is national, not EU wide, which is why both are here.
